It's Happening at The Create Exchange

I love my job. I get to be surrounded by crafty, creative people and wonderful craft supplies every day. But like most crafters, I would love to have more crafting time. Time, or lack of it, is why I especially like quick projects.

Today, I decided to try a project that I’ve seen in many different Pinterest posts, Christmas Glitter Ornaments. This project was easy to do, and even though it required some special supplies, I was very happy with the results.

What you need:

Clear glass or plastic ornaments, Glitter, Pledge Floor Polish or Minwax Polyacrylic (I used Minwax Polyacrylic that I picked up at Home Depot).

What to do:

1. Take the top off the ornament and pour a small amount of the polyacrylic into the ornament and swirl it around, to completely coat the inside surface. Don’t shake! Shaking create bubbles.

2.Turn the ornament over and let it drain. Be patient and let it drain thoroughly. Keep the drained liquid to use again. A little bit of this stuff goes a long way.

3.Pour in glitter and swirl it around, completely coating the inside surface. Then turn it over and let excess glitter fall out.

  1. Replace the ornament top. Embellish the outside of the ornament with stickers, jewels, ribbon, or whatever else you like.

All done!

We had some great projects Sunday Dec. 4th. Here's the Top 3.

1. Dena Slaman did a great job transforming an old dresser into a modern media center. Wow!

2. Amanda Richardson crocheted this adorable Dinosaur Amish Puzzle Ball. What a fun toy!

2. Dana Groff been busy decorating doors. I love this one!

2.Cindy Hightower Arnold used her dogs pawprints to create this extra special art piece.
